Placeholder bars still displaying top border
 Betsy Posts: 67

Betsy(KMA) I got an interesting issue sent to our support@mekkographics.com address today. The user had created a Marimekko Chart and had set some bars as Placeholders. She was wondering why it appeared as if the Placeholder bars were still displaying the top border. The issue here is that the Marimekko chart contains a full chart border. When we set a bar as a placeholder, it does not remove the border on the entire chart. The way to fix the problem is to remove the chart border. To do this, go to Format--Chart-- Border and select None. edited by Betsy on 5/18/2012

BKJ (KMA) - You should click the Buy Button under the Volume Section on the Buy Page. This will start the per license price at $249 per license. Single licenses are $299. Please email us at support@mekkographics.com if you are still having trouble.

We'd like to introduce what we hope will be a useful tool for you! Here's a presentation that provides working examples of different uses of Marimekko Charts. The charts were all built with Mekko Graphics software. Feel free to let us know how you are using Marimekko charts with Mekko Graphics in your organization. We'd love to hear from you!

Betsy (KMA) - if you insert a table, your toolbar will display your Mekko Graphics table options, which include Harvey Balls. Harvey Balls are uniquely associated with table functionality in PowerPoint.

I see that I am supposed to be able to use Harvey Balls in the Mekko package but I don't see the functionality anywhere. How do I insert Harvey Balls?

Betsy (KMA) - Hi Nerina, In your example, it looks like you set Group All as a Total value in Mekko Graphics. Doing this will bring the starting point back down to zero. If you don't want subsequent values to start from zero, then uncheck Group All as a Total value.

Watermark still shows after activation

Betsy (KMA) - This can occur when you try and use a serial number from a subscription purchase of Mekko Graphics on an older version of Mekko Graphics software. Please uninstall the version on your computer and download and install our latest version. Your serial number will work with the subscription version.

When I open Excel, I am always receiving a message that says: "mekko graphics 4\chartwizard.xla cannot be found". I recently replaced my computer and had upgraded the previous version from 4 to 5 on my old computer.

I just installed, then within a day activated Mekko 5 for a user, but when she opens presentations that were created before activation, they still have the Mekko watermark, but the software is activated on her computer. How do I get rid of the watermark?

Hi, I recently acquired Mekko 5, and migrate from Mekko 3.0 toMekko 5.0, but it seems to me that the width on the axis, both vertical and horizontal, are higher on Mekko 5.0 than Mekko 3.0. Is it possible to change/modify anysetting in order to make it look like Mekko 3.0? Thank you, Guillermo

Betsy (KMA) - This is a frequently asked question, and although we do not have it currently, it is most definitely on the list for enhancements in a future release. Thanks for the great suggestion.

Betsy (KMA) If you purchased Mekko Graphics 5 before May 1, 2011 and have issues printing to .pdf, you have a couple of choices.
1. You can install a third party .pdf writer, like CutePDF Writer. http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp
or
2. If you uninstall Mekko Graphics 5 and install the version currently available for download on our website, you should not have issues on any charts created after the new version is installed. For existing charts, you will need to open those charts and resave for the fix to take effect.

Betsy (KMA) - Thanks for the question. Yes, we changed the model so one user can use it on multiple machines (i.e. home office and work). There is a page on our website detailing information on the subscription model.

Hope this helps!

Hi,
I'm a little confused with the new licensing model. In the "buy" section it is stated that the license is now for the user and not the machine, so I can use the software in both my office and home computer. However, on the previous model (perpetual) you had to install/uninstall your software if you wanted to use different computers.
I haven't found any explanation on how it works now and I just want to be sure that I can use the software in both computers.
thanks.

I converted my Mekko enhanced .PPT file to PDF to print through our high end digital printers. Everything prints fine until it reaches the Mekko Graphic charts. The printer continually hangs up on the PDF file that contains the Mekko Graphic plug in. Is there a solution for this?

Can the "growth line" on my attached stacked bar chart be changed to reflect CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) instead of the pure growth rate of FY15 vs FY12? THanks!
