I can create a variety of business charts in Excel. What additional features does Mekko Graphics offer?
Mekko Graphics offers charting capabilities that exceed those offered by Excel. In Mekko Graphics 4, the Marimekko chart, for example, communicates up to three levels of data (such as Sales by Competitor by Market Segment) in a single, two-dimensional graph. Mekko Graphics also provides more flexible and powerful formatting options than Excel, allowing you to display your data in a way that best communicates your points. Because Mekko charts are designed specifically to address the needs of Management Consultants and Strategic Planners, you'll find tools uniquely geared to your business needs, such as comparison lines, net lines, CAGR data, normative bands, data tables, regression lines, outlier series, and more.

How long will it take me to learn how to use Mekko Graphics?
Mekko Graphics takes just a little practice to be able to create new charts and graphs very quickly. If you are experienced with Excel and PowerPoint® the learning curve is even quicker. The best way to get started is to read our Getting Started document and then explore the Sample Presentation that is included with your software when you purchase Mekko. You'll also want to explore the Solutions Center to learn how Mekko Graphics software can be used to depict a wide range of strategic and business themes. Our Support FAQ includes some great tips and tricks for creating Mekko charts.

Why is the Marimekko chart, in particular, so popular for strategic presentations?
The Marimekko chart is an extremely powerful chart that allows you to present up to three levels of data in a two-dimensional graph. Its popularity is due to the fact that Marimekkos present a great deal of information efficiently in a very easy-to-read layout. The Marimekko chart is available for Mekko Graphics 4.

How do I give Mekko Graphics charts my corporate 'look and feel'?
Any 'look and feel' that you have already established with your PowerPoint® background can be maintained when Mekko charts and graphs are inserted. You will want to select a color palette in Mekko that complements your corporate identity. The Mekko Graphics 4 Preference Manager gives you a great deal of control over color choices and fonts. In addition, an import and export function allows multiple users at one organization to share their preference choices.

Do you offer volume discounts and/or group training?

With Mekko Graphics 4, we are introducing a Volume License Program. To quality for our Volume License Program, you must have purchase a minimum of five licenses. The costs associated with our Volume License Program are as follows:
5-10 users $445/license
11-25 users $425/license
26-40 users $400/license

To participate in the Volume License Program, please provide Knowledge Management Associates (KMA) with one administrative contact and one technical contact. You will then be provided with one serial number for the number of licenses purchased. The Volume License Program includes web access to license information (availability) free of charge to you.

What kind of support is available if I have a problem?
The Mekko Graphics Customer Support team strives to continuously provide customers with the best possible service. From incident-level help to unlimited cases, KMA offers support programs to help you speed deployment, reduce downtime, and maximize the usefulness of your Mekko Graphics software.

We offer a variety of support channels, including the web, e-mail, telephone, and online knowledge bases. Mekko Graphics Support includes both paid and complimentary support. Complimentary support is available through a variety of online sources as well as from our Mekko Graphics customer support team. Paid support can be obtained directly from technical experts through the purchase of Support incidents and contracts.

Complimentary Support:
For immediate assistance, access Mekko Graphics Online Help, which includes an overview of all the basic features supported by Mekko Graphics. It can be accessed from the Mekko menu in PowerPoint®. You might also want to review the Support FAQs, which provide information and suggestions in the areas of Installation and Activation, Requirements, Using Mekko Graphics, Formatting and Excel Issues. Here you will find questions we’ve received from our users in the past, along with detailed answers that may address your needs.

Mekko Graphics 4 Complimentary Support includes:

1. Online support information from sources that include Mekko Graphics Help, FAQs, sample presentations, and our Chart Finder.
2. E-mail or phone support directly from our customer support team only for installation or activation issues.

Paid Support:
Mekko Graphics 4 Paid support includes two options:
1. Technical support on a “per-incident” basis at a rate of $30 per incident.

Payment methods include by phone via credit card (MC, Visa, AmEx) or on www.mekkographics.com. Once payment is received, Mekko support professionals will communicate back during our office hours, and no later than one business day.

Paid support is not provided unless a customer has registered their Mekko Graphics software.

Our support services are available Monday - Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, Eastern Time (GMT - 5).


Knowledge Management Associates (KMA) defines a single support incident as an issue that focuses on one aspect of the product – e.g. use of a specific documented feature of the product or assistance with a specific problem or error message. A single support incident may involve multiple phone calls, emails and off-line research. KMA Support consultants are responsible for determining what characterizes a support incident. Customers are eligible for a refund on single incident charges for product defects and documentation errors.

Once an issue is accepted as being within the extent of technical support, resolution of a technical support issue shall be defined as accomplishing any one of the following:

1. Providing a reasonable solution to the issue
2. Providing a reasonable work-around to the issue
3. Determination by KMA that the issue is an enhancement request and forwarding the request to Mekko Graphics Product Management for future consideration

Administrative Support:
Administrative support is separate from Mekko support and includes the creation of reports related to a client's license purchase and usage. An administrative support incident costs $69 per report.
