Sports stars dominate the list of top Instagram earners, as shown in this horizontal bar chart. Football (soccer) players Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi earned $47.8M and $23.3M, respectively. Other footballers in the top 20 were David Beckham, Neymar Jr., Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Gareth Bale. Celebrities Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, Khloe Kardashian and Priyanka Chopra also featured among the top 20 Instagram earners. Data were compiled by BuzzBingo.

The number of sponsored Instagram posts and the income per post varied greatly among the top 20 earners. Kylie Jenner with only three posts and income per post of $1.27M had the most valuable posts. Tara Whiteman had the most sponsored posts at 73, but only earned about $10K per post.

Here's how I made the horizontal bar chart:

copy the data from a table on the BuzzBingo web page into Excel
reformat it to look like the spreadsheet above
create a horizontal bar chart in PowerPoint based on the data range
use the Switch Bars and Series button to treat the rows as bars and the columns as series
in the Bars and Series dialog, show the data in columns B and H as data columns
add a y axis title, hide the x axis and all aspects of the y axis, except the title
adjust the internal chart margins to reduce the width of the chart area and to make the top and bottom margins narrower
move the bar labels to the left using the lasso function and the left arrow
move the two data columns to appear between the bar labels and the bars
apply the appropriate number formats to the bar totals and data columns
adjust the series colors, hide the segment labels and show the series names in a legend
move the legend into the whitespace near the bottom of the chart
edit the data column headers to appear on two lines and use the text line squeezing function to reduce the space between the line
